Since its inception in the 1940s, The Barnet Society has organised a variety of events to stimulate, educate, agitate and entertain its Members.

We hold a series of talks, walks, and visits throughout the year, as well as a regular

question-and-answer session with the MP for Chipping Barnet and an AGM in May or June. The Society is also prepared to help publicise events organised by local groups and organisations.

Description

Julie - NT Live (2018)

Vanessa Kirby (The Crown, A Streetcar Named Desire) and Eric Kofi Abrefa (The Amen Corner) star in this brand-new production of August Strindberg’s Miss Julie, directed by Carrie Cracknell and broadcast live from the National Theatre to Everyman.

Wild, newly single independent Julie throws a late-night party, the rest is history.
In the kitchen, Jean and Kristina clean up as the celebration heaves above them.

Crossing the threshold, Julie initiates a power game with Jean – which rapidly descends into a savage fight for survival.

This new take on the classic play remains shocking and fiercely relevant in its new setting of contemporary London.
