Since its inception in the 1940s, The Barnet Society has organised a variety of events to stimulate, educate, agitate and entertain its Members.
We hold a series of talks, walks, and visits throughout the year, as well as a regular question-and-answer session with the MP for Chipping Barnet and an AGM in May or June.
The Society is also prepared to help publicise events organised by local groups and organisations.

Christmas Market & Wreath Making
Have a tramp around the farm, gathering your foliage from the Farm's trees and hedgerows, then head back to the Black Barn to create your festive door wreath to take home.
Please bring scissors or secateurs if you have them (though some will be available to borrow for a small deposit).
Wrap up warm and don’t forget your wellies! Suitable for families, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
Festive Food Market
Enjoy lunch with top local street food, along with a warming mulled cider or apple and once you’ve filled your boots there'll be time to stock up on award-winning local produce and Christmas treats and gifts; including Forty Hall Vineyard’s wine, Wildes Cheese and Old Bakery Gin, plus midwinter organic produce from the farm.
Organised by Capel Manor College’s Forty Hall Farm and the Food Gatherer, the partnership that brings you The Enfield Food Festival.
