St John's The Baptist Church High Barnet

Since its inception in the 1940s, The Barnet Society has organised a variety of events to stimulate, educate, agitate and entertain its Members.

We hold a series of talks, walks, and visits throughout the year, as well as a regular question-and-answer session with the MP for

Chipping Barnet and an AGM in May or June.

The Society is also prepared to help publicise events organised by local groups and organisations.

‘Circus’ will be the theme reflected in the procession that leaves Saint Albans Road at 12.00, headed by the band of the 1st Barnet Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Association.

The procession will then continue along the High Street to Union Street where The Mayor of Barnet will officially open the event.

Stalls on the High Street and in Church House will be selling a wide range of gifts, cards and decorations.

Near The Spires you can find a selection of delicious cooked food.

Our Christmas Courtyard (the college forecourt) will mainly have attractions for children – Beat the Goalie, craft activities, Santa on his balcony in Tudor Hall, toy and sweet stalls, Punch and Judy and more.

In Tudor Hall you can also enjoy an exhibition by Barnet Guild of Artists.

There will be children's shows at The Bull Theatre, choirs on the Christmas Courtyard, classical music in Barnet Church and dancing in the street outside Iceland, where we finish with carols at 4.00 p.m.

Lots to do for all the family. 3rd December, 12 noon - 5.00 pm

There are still stalls available. For more information or to hire a stall please download a booking form from or email Ros at rosstaines@yahoo

Volunteer stewards are still needed, usually for 2-hour slots.
